APARNĒSIS {Self Denial} explores the struggle against the self—the inner battle between pain, weakness, fear, and the desire to survive.

A figure is trapped among thorns and fire, surrounded by the psychological wounds and suffering that can imprison the human spirit. In his hands, the cross becomes more than a symbol of faith; it becomes a sharp instrument directed toward himself, representing the painful act of confronting and breaking through the parts of the self that hold him back.

The work reflects on the idea of self-denial as a path toward liberation. Sometimes, the greatest battle is not against the world around us, but against what exists within us. To move forward, one must confront the self, surrender what no longer serves them, and endure the struggle that comes with transformation.

APARNĒSIS is ultimately about the difficult journey from inner suffering toward freedom, and the possibility of finding peace only after facing the deepest parts of oneself.
