HODOS - 2026
HODOS, meaning “The Way” in Greek, explores the search for direction and meaning when we find ourselves lost in the darkness.
At the center of the painting stands a figure surrounded by a subtle light, while countless figures gather around in darkness. Each one represents a lost soul, carrying their own fears, questions, pain, and uncertainty. Their faces remain unclear, reflecting the feeling of losing oneself and not knowing where the path ahead will lead.
The central figure represents Christ as a symbol of light, guidance, and hope. The light does not erase the darkness surrounding the others, but offers a direction through it.
Inspired by the words of Christ, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” the work reflects on the human search for meaning and the longing to find a path when everything around us feels uncertain.
HODOS is ultimately about the moment when, even in the deepest darkness, we recognize a light that shows us where to go.
